What the Millennium Development Goals Have Achieved

In 2000, the United Nations came together to establish the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) designed to address social issues across the globe. The eight established categories included addressing extreme poverty and hunger, universal primary education, premature death in children, maternal health, diseases, environmental sustainability, and global partnerships for continued development. These ambitious goals were created for both developed and currently developing countries.
